 Alan
has been shooting portraits of Australian performers for over
15 years and, in that time he has developed a reputation as one
of Melbourne's premiere headshot photographers.
"I approach headshots from an actors point of view. A
good headshot is a communication with the camera rather than
the camera capturing a portrait. Something in the actor's photo
has to contain an arresting quality that captures the unique
focus and warmth needed in television and film performance."
Certainly Alan's professional work as an actor has assisted
his photographic work.
"I have always stayed in close contact with casting director's
and agents to ensure I know what the industry expects from a
headshot. I love the work because it brings me in contact with
so many of my peers. I also enjoy meeting so many newcomers to
the industry and always try to offer advice on the business of
acting as well as give them the best shot to get them started."
As at January 2005, Alan's has taken
a break from his photography business in order to concentrate
on other aspects of his career. He is therefore no longer taking
bookings for photo sessions.
