Neighbours Actor To Star In Panto
By Joanne Skailes
AN AUSTRALIAN soap star will exchange his stethoscope for
a cutlass in an Aberdeen panto this winter.
Actor Alan Fletcher, who played Dr Karl Kennedy in Neighbours
for 14 years, will shake off his respectable image as doctor,
father and all-round good guy and play the fiendish Captain Hook
in Peter Pan at the cityHM theatre.
He will join Any Dream Will Do runner-up Keith Jack, performer
Jordan Young and actor Alan McHugh.
He follows in the footsteps of fellow Neighbours actor Stefan
Dennis who played the evil Abanazaar in Aladdin at HMT last Christmas.
Aberdeen Performing Arts chief executive Duncan Hendry said:
Uldquo;Alan Fletcher is known throughout the world through his
role in Neighbours and we are thrilled to have secured an international
actor of Alanstature to star in Peter Pan and we are looking
forward to welcoming him to HMT.”
Tickets are already selling for the four-week run which starts
on December 6.
