Did you know that ....?
Alan has played a character with the first name of "Frank" three times so far: Frank Rossi in "Cop Shop", Frank Vittorio in "Sword of Honour" and Frank Harkin in "Mercy Mission".
He has also played a character with the name "Vittorio" twice - Frank Vittorio in the mini-series "Sword of Honour" and Vittorio Vidal in the 2007 Production Company's version of "Sweet Charity" at the Victorian Arts Centre.
Twenty years ago, Jackie Woodburne played Alan's sister in "Cop Shop" (Gina Rossi) and currently plays his wife (Susan Kennedy) in "Neighbours". (See a video clip from those early days here housed on the Alan Fletcher.net Fanzone)
Alan has played a soldier eight times on stage and screen (including Aremis in "The Three Musketeers") and twice in "Privates on Parade" (in different roles). He's played a cop three times and a soldier who was also a cop once (Sargeant McLean in "All The Rivers Run II"). There must be something about Alan in uniform!
Alan learnt the art of fencing (that's the sword variety, not the building kind!) for his role of Aramis in "The Three Musketeers", and when subsequently playing Tybalt in "Romeo And Juliet" he ended up being the fight choreographer as well!
